Blue Orchid Hotels, restaurants, bars, gyms and venues remain open and are unaffected by the new rules announced on Wednesday 8th December by the Prime Minister: “Christmas should go ahead as normally as possible.

28th November

In light of the new measures announced by the UK's Prime Minister, face coverings in shops including hairdressers and on public transport are now mandatory, unless you are exempt. Hospitality settings are excluded from the rules, except takeaways that do not offer consumption of food or drinks on the premises. It is also required to take a PCR test on or before day 2 for all international arrivals, including for those who are fully-vaccinated, and to self-isolate until a negative result is received.

We warmly welcome the latest update from the UK Government’s COVID Operations Committee to allow fully vaccinated international travellers from the United States and European Union to enter England without quarantining.

Following the UK Prime Minister’s decision to progress to the fourth step of the Government’s roadmap, we are pleased to announce that there are no longer any statutory restrictions on the operations within our hotels, restaurants, spa, grooming salon and gyms due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The safety and reassurance of our guests and staff are always among our top priorities. We remain committed to providing ongoing enhanced cleaning protocols of the air and surfaces together with staff adhering to recommended guidelines within our hotels and outlets, for that extra peace of mind.
We remain officially accredited as COVID-secure by Bureau Veritas.


16th June

Safety and impeccable cleaning standards are always among Blue Orchid Hotels top priorities, taking care and responsibility towards our guests and colleagues. Following the latest advice from the World Health Organisation on COVID-19 transmission being from inhaled airborne droplets rather than from touching contaminated surfaces, we have partnered with Rensair, specialists in air purification and protecting lives through clean air, and have installed air purification units into our public and events spaces. These hospital-grade products have been independently validated by several scientific research laboratories and destroy a minimum of 99.97% of airborne viruses.

Kindly note that the rule of six will no longer be applied to outdoor settings i.e. in all our outdoor dining services and on our roof terrace. Indoors the rule of six stills or two households still applies.


From 21 June

Will potentially see all legal limits on social contact removed, and restrictions on weddings and funerals also abolished.

Blue Orchid Hotels remain open for legally permitted reasons.From 6th January, with the UK being in a national lockdown, the permitted reasons to stay in a hotel are, those who:

Are visiting their support bubble
Require accommodation for work purposes or to provide voluntary services
Are unable to return to their main residence
Need accommodation whilst moving house
Need accommodation to attend a funeral or related commemorative event
Are a child requiring accommodation for school or care
Are an elite athlete or their support staff or parent, if the athlete is under 18 and it is necessary to be outside of the home for training or competition.

We can continue to accommodate persons who:

Use our accommodation as their main residence
Are unable to return to their main residence
Need our spaces for work purposes, or to provide voluntary or charitable services
Need to attend education or training
Need to care for a vulnerable person or seek respite from doing so
Are self-isolating as required by law (Tower Suites has proven self-isolating units and these can be used).
Need to attend a medical appointment or treatment (we have travel and recovery suites and our health and wellbeing packages available if you need).

From 20th December, with London being in a new Tier 4, the permitted reasons to stay in a hotel are, those who:

Were staying immediately before the entry into Tier 3
Need to attend education or training
Need to attend a medial appointment or treatment

Our spa, gyms and hairdressers remain open.

Accommodation is open for people to stay in order to be located near their Christmas bubble.

In line with the latest UK government guidelines, Blue Orchid Hotels continue to remain open and are delighted to welcome guests from the same household or support bubble for leisure stays as well as for work or other legally permitted reasons, at any of our properties.

Our restaurants, spa, gyms, grooming atelier and private event spaces for weddings, education and training, are ready to accept bookings from Wednesday, 2nd December onwards, simply contact reservations@blueorchid.com.

Our hotels are remaining open for work, education and other legally permitted reasons.

If you need to travel for work, require safe and secure accommodation to attend your workplace, for education or other legally permitted reasons, then Blue Orchid Hotels are here to help.

We understand it is essential to keep the country operating and so we remain open to continue to support vital sectors (such as the NHS and medical practitioners) and employers.

With our newly installed onsite medical facility and qualified medical personnel, you can also combine your stay with COVID-19, antibody and other medical and health tests and services.

For those who have booked spa elements as part of a package, these can now be substituted/ re-allocated towards accredited COVID-19 tests and/ or work lunches or dinners served in spacious suites - perfect for safe, independent living.

If your up and coming visit was purely for a leisure break, you can re-arrange for a future date to which we will add 25% in value in recognition of your loyal patronage*.

Blue Orchid Hotels together with its collaborative partner Global Healthcare proudly provide essential COVID-19 and health tests onsite. To find out more, contact experience@blueorchid.com All tests by Global Healthcare Medical Diagnosis are Abbott’s tests and have been evaluated for their accuracy by Public Health England.



24th September

Navigating the pandemic with care and responsibility towards our guests, Blue Orchid Hotels follows the government’s latest advice and continues adapting its extensive list of precautionary measures accordingly.

All food and beverage outlets located on the premises of any of the Blue Orchid Hotels properties have adhered to the curfew regime, now operating until 22:00.
Guests are strongly advised to wear masks inside the hotels when located in the common areas, including lobbies, corridors, beauty and wellness salons and public                    restrooms.
Symptom recognition, temperature recording face-monitors have been installed on entry points throughout the hotels, social distancing protocols and signage are                   clearly articulated.
An in-house fully-equipped medical facility has been established. Qualified medical personnel and the latest innovations allow guests to assess their immunity and                    check for antibodies in their blood. A series of preventive and palliative treatments are offered.

4th July

Whilst we remained open throughout the pandemic to offer a safe home to key workers, we are delighted to now open to the general public, with unrivalled experience to accommodate guests safely. We also welcome you to: Cento Alla Torre, a spectacular new vibrant Mediterranean restaurant adjacent to the iconic Tower of London; TJ’s Grooming for the sharpest men's hair cuts; an eclectic mix of pop-ups in our Vine Street food market together with the sumptuous Adamo Spa and London Fitness Studio.

We have also been busy updating The Wellington and The Rochester, overlooking London’s largest private square. Enjoy al fresco dining in our unique private gardens and terraces and at a range of eateries and bars, including the new Vegan Brasserie.

A one-day window of time separating one occupier and the next
Enhanced cleaning protocols and use of hospital grade disinfectants
Regular staff training on COVID-19 related company policies
Use of Personal Protective Equipment
Temperature recordings of employees taken twice per day
Restaurants and bars adopting a separate tables' policy
Partitions / screens for guest separation
Enhanced safety with the use of electrostatic spray equipment
Signage and floor markings in public areas to ensure safe social distancing by staff and guests
Hand sanitizer, masks and disinfectant wipes available in all public areas
Independent and safe living with fully-equipped kitchens and lounges together with luxurious bathrooms and private bedrooms (in some properties)

As it stands, our policy for individual guests allows free modification of all existing and new reservations in all Blue Orchid Hotels for stays until 30th April 2020. For group reservations, we offer free cancellation for Belgium, China, France, Japan, Iran, Italy, South Korea, Spain, and US inbound and outbound travel until 30th April 2020. We continue to monitor government and insurance advice and protocols.
